Plain-language summary of what crawlers.cc collects and how it is used. This is not legal advice; questions are welcome by email.
Who runs this
crawlers.cc is an independent, fan-built tool operated by Bradford Farmer. It is not a company, and it is not affiliated with Matt Dinniman or Renegade Game Studios.
Signing in
Sign-in is handled by Auth0. The app never sees or stores your password. When you sign in, we receive and store your email address and a display name to identify your account. You can also sign in with Google, Discord, or similar providers through Auth0; we receive only the email and name they share.
What we store
- Your account: email, display name, tier (player/GM), and status.
- Content you create: characters, inventory, campaigns, floors, and notes.
- If you request GM access: the note you submit and the decision (approved/denied and any reason).
- AI generation usage: which account triggered a generation, the feature, campaign, and model used to operate the free service and prevent abuse.
- A session cookie (
dcc_session) so you stay signed in. It holds only an opaque session id, is HttpOnly and Secure, and expires on sign-out or after inactivity.
Data is stored on Cloudflare and identity is held by Auth0. We also use Google Analytics for aggregate usage stats.
Who can see your data
- You can see and edit your own characters, inventory, and campaigns.
- A GM you play with can see and edit a character you have linked to their campaign (for example to award loot or apply conditions).
- Site admins can see account names, emails, tiers, GM-request notes, and AI-usage totals to operate the service and review GM requests.
- Other players never see your account email; anonymous watchers only ever see what a GM has revealed on the live map.
How long we keep it
Your account and content are kept until you delete them. Sessions expire automatically. You can delete your account at any time from your character list; see below.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from the My characters page. This removes your characters, inventory, campaign memberships, GM requests, and sessions. Campaigns you own as a GM are not deleted so your players keep their game; they become unowned and can be claimed or wound down by an admin. Aggregate AI-usage and admin audit records are retained for accounting and security.
